Harlem had two major figures vying for control of the streets—Chico and Kola. Apple had been forgotten. It’d been a month since her sudden disappearance, and many people thought she’d run off because she was too embarrassed to face anybody.

Chico was gaining his control again over his city streets. He had a strong pipeline to the South, via the Johnson brothers, and a new chick by his side. Apple was becoming nothing but a memory for him.

Kola was the queen of New York. She didn’t care who she had to cross, even if it meant killing those closest to her. She didn’t want to end up like her sister, missing and her reputation ruined. So when she gave the order to have Edge killed, it didn’t disturb her. She considered it a cost of doing business.
